VEGA is an informal group of like-minded (stomached?) people.
We hold regular meeting and events, providing
an opportunity to make new friends, exchange ideas and to promote the
vegetarian and vegan lifestyle.
Why not come along to one of our regular monthly meetings in the
Public Bar of the Blackburn Moat House, on the first Tuesday of every
month from 7:30pm.
Quiz and Curry Evening:8:00-10:30pm,
Saturday 26th April, St. Wilfred's Hall, Winckley Square,
Preston. Adults £5; Children £3. Bring your own wine, beer and
soft drinks. Tickets in advance from Maureen or Anne.
Lake District Weekend:Saturday & Sunday
10th & 11th May, Grasmere, Cumbria. Walking in Easedale valley on
Saturday followed by an evening meal at the renowned Lancrigg
Vegetarian Country House Hotel and Restaurant. Some members are staying
in the hotel, others are camping/caravaning nearby.
National Camping and
Caravaning Meet:Saturday 24th May to Sunday 1st
June. Camping and caravaning week for vegetarians and vegans from
all over the country. Everyone welcome; just come for one of the
weekends if you can't make the full week. To be held at a central
location (to be arranged, probably Cotswolds). Picnics, barbecues,
walking and sightseeing (or do your own thing).
VEGFEST'97:12:00pm onwards,
Saturday 7th June, Castlefield Arena, Manchester. Members of the
group are taking part in the festival and then treating themselves to
a meal at Greens Restaurant in Didsbury.
Cookery Demonstration:Sunday 3rd August, at
the Vegetarian Society, Parkdale, Altrincham. Healthy eating (Vegan)
cookery demonstration day.
